Key requirements

• Confident and professional when dealing with people.

• Good communication skills and the ability to relate with people of all backgrounds.

• Able to work independently, and you enjoy being part of a team.

• A reliable vehicle (and a current valid driver’s licence), mobile phone, either ipad/pc/laptop/ similar device to access our platform and email address and internet connection.

• Comfortable and confident using technology, including the ability to learn new software as required.

• Ability to perform some physical work on the day, including light lifting of materials and to be on your feet for extended periods of time.

• Regard all information received about the Cancer Society staff or volunteers as confidential. You do not share data, documents, or your PC/laptop/device for others to view. You delete all information relating to the role, after the event.

• You agree to notify the Daffodil Day Event/Volunteer team immediately should your health or personal circumstances alter your ability to continue in the role.

• You will not carry out your role under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You inform the Area coordinator Support/Manager Volunteering should you be required to take any medication that could impair your coordination, alertness, or judgement in the role.

• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including government guidelines for COVID-19 alert levels.

• Attend the pre-event training.
