Team player wanted as part of a team of 2-3 on Sunday food rescue shifts.
Training for the role is provided. This role can involve a lot of heavy lifting (15-20kgs) between 2 people, so you must be reasonably fit.
The food rescue shift driver transports this team member to the Johnsonville School Farmers Market in KCA's chiller truck, where they are met by a third team member.
The stallholders at this market will let the team know what they want to donate. The team then sorts and places all donated food of good quality into our grey KCA-branded crates, weighs it, and moves it into our chiller truck. Upon arriving back at our depot in Grenada North, the team uses a pallet jack to move the food crates on to a pallet and into our chiller room.
Volunteers need their own transport to get to and from KCA's Grenada North Depot, as there is no public transport nearby.
A minimum commitment of 6 months is required for this shift.
