Make a Difference as a Volunteer Home Tutor
Join English Language Partners Waikato and help former refugees and migrants settle well and succeed in Aotearoa. As a Volunteer Home Tutor, you’ll support an adult to learn English and settle into their community.
What’s involved?
- Train as a Volunteer Home Tutor with our free, NZQA-recognised course
- Gain new skills and confidence in tutoring English
- Share your knowledge and learn about New Zealand’s diverse cultures
- Make a real impact in someone’s life
After training, you will:
- Work one-on-one with an adult learner in their home for 1–2 hours a week
- Plan lessons and use our online and offline teaching resources
- Receive ongoing volunteer support and workshop opportunities
No teaching experience is needed - just a good understanding of everyday English and a genuine interest in supporting someone from another culture.
