StarJam Tauranga - Volunteers Wanted for 2024

StarJam supported by Volunteering Services

Logo for StarJam

We are looking for creative, passionate people who are interested in becoming volunteer for young people with disabilities in our weekly singing, dancing and drumming workshops held in various locations around Auckland.

StarJam is a super-charity which provides empowering performance opportunities for young people with disabilities. Known as “Jammers”, StarJam’s young people gain respect, confidence, new friends and hope for the future, often for the first time, in a fun, inclusive atmosphere. Wildly positive change affects not just them and their families but their peers and the wider community.

We run workshops that each requires two dedicated volunteers to help supervise and support young people with disabilities in a singing, dancing or drumming workshop. The workshop is run by a tutor and the volunteers are there to support the tutor and young people – ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the participants. The workshops are held on a regular week night during the school terms from 6.30- 8pm, so is best suited to someone who can commit to regular involvement, one night per week during the StarJam term.
