Radio Operator Volunteer Tauranga

Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard supported by Volunteering Services

As a Radio Operator you will need to have good computer skills and be confident on a VHF radio, although that will come with time. We will help you get your radio license and any other training courses you wish to undertake. We are currently looking to recruit radio operators for our weekend shifts, to be ready to go by October 2024 for the summer season.

Taking trip reports from our boating public is the main part of the job. We run 2 shifts per day 6.30am - 12.30pm and 12.30pm - 6pm, 7 days per week (with Xmas and Boxing day off). You can volunteer on a weekly shift or fortnightly out of HQ based at the gorgeous Sulphur Point Marina in Tauranga.
