Hospice Whanganui is only partially funded by government, we rely on a range of activities to raise funds to provide palliative care to the wider Whanganui community.

• Be part of a team, coming together throughout the year, to support Hospice and have a great time with fun and interesting events.

• Most of our events have a wide variety of roles so you can experience plenty of variety or specialise in one thing. When we have an event coming up, we will get in touch and you can let us know if you’re available this time, it’s as easy as that.

• Once you have enrolled as a volunteer you can be with us for a few months or choose to stay with us for decades! You will have a full introduction to Hospice Whanganui in our orientation sessions, followed by morning tea. We have regular social events and our volunteer newsletter is a great read every couple of months.
