The Chairperson plays a pivotal role in providing leadership, establishing governance practices, and ensuring effective participation and compliance within the organization. They oversee the board's activities, and coordinate with the hub coordinator. Responsibilities:
- Provide Leadership:
- Lead the board in setting strategic goals and direction for the organisation.
- Foster a positive and inclusive organisational culture.
- Establish Governance Practices:
- Develop and implement governance practices and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Uphold ethical standards and promote good governance principles.
- Board Briefing and Participation:
- Ensure the board is adequately briefed on organisational progress, challenges, and issues.
- Facilitate effective participation of board members in organisational development.
- Compliance and Policy Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with organizational strategies and policies.
- Monitor and evaluate policy effectiveness, recommending changes as necessary.
- Agenda Setting:
- Set the agenda for board meetings in consultation with board members.
- Hub Coordinator Collaboration:
- Meet fortnightly with the hub coordinator to discuss organisational matters and initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to the hub coordinator as needed.
