Amitabha coordinates free compassionate companionship and practical support to elderly and incurably ill people of any age in their own homes. Our amazing volunteers are essential to Amitabha in providing support to people across Auckland. As an Amitabha Support Companion you can make a valuable difference to someone’s quality of life by providing psychosocial and practical support. This mahi aroha is rewarding and interesting in many ways and a great way to give back within your own community.
Drive patients to and from cancer treatment appointments Being a good driver goes without saying in this role, but as a Client Driver you’ll be doing so much more than getting someone from A to B. This is very much a front-line role, where every journey you make will be helping someone to get the support and treatment they need, so being empathetic and a good listener is vital as you travel to and from appointments.
